Description of the Mission
The Prairie Center mission and purpose is to help alleviate the pain and suffering experienced by victims of sexual assault, to educate the communities we serve on all issues related to sexual violence and to prevent its occurrence. The Prairie Center provides a range of services including in-person victim or significant other counseling, group counseling, legal and medical advocacy, and community education.
Brief Description of Volunteer Positions:
All volunteers must complete a state mandated, 40 hour sexual assault training.
Volunteer Opportunities are available to assist with the 24 hour hotline, medical or hospital calls, booth assistance at fairs, and fundraiser event help.
Hotline shifts are from 6 p.m.-7:30 a.m. are are done at the volunteer's home with phone calls routed to their home phone. Other volunteer positions vary in time commitment.
