Since 1916, the American people have entrusted the National Park Service with the care of their national parks. With the help of volunteers and park partners, we are proud to safeguard these nearly 400 places and to share their stories with more than 275 million visitors every year. The Lincoln Home is one of those sites.

Visitor Center Assistant
Brief description of the volunteer position
Volunteers will staff the information desk inside the Lincoln Home visitor center. Volunteers can answer questions related to Lincoln Home, assist visitors with inquiries about other historic sites in and around Springfield, as well as assisting with the park’s Junior Ranger program.
Designated shifts are available between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily. Volunteers may spend periods of time standing and may be asked to lift moderately heavy objects (boxes, bundles of publications, etc.)
